If your organization allows it and your hardware supports it, you can use Microsoft Lync Online communications software to make and receive voice calls within your organization. You will need Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) capability, a microphone, and speakers. You can use also use any device recommended by your organization, such as a USB headset, for these calls. You can use the Contacts list to call one or more internal co-workers or federated contacts (outside partners whose company is federated or connected with yours). For more information about how to search for contacts, see Use Lync Online Search.
Lync Online automatically detects your audio devices, but you may want to check your Audio Deviceoptionsto select alternate devices, adjust volume levels, or to check that everything is working correctly. For more information, see Audio Device settings.
