PivotDiagram Options dialog box
These options apply to the currently selected PivotDiagram.
The PivotDiagram Options dialog box appears when you click the PivotDiagram menu and click Options or when you click PivotDiagram Options in the PivotDiagram window. The options apply to each PivotDiagram independently. For example, let's say you have a drawing with one PivotDiagram that shows the sales data broken down by quarter and another PivotDiagram that shows the sales broken down by salesperson. You can choose a different set of options for each PivotDiagram.
Title
To change the original name of the data source, type a different name in the Title box.
Diagram options
-
Show title Select this check box to show the title of a PivotDiagram's data source in the data legend. For a Microsoft Office Excel workbook, the title is the name of a worksheet. For Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, the title is the name of a cube. For other database sources, the title is the name of a table or view.
-
Show data legend Select this check box to show the data legend, a shape that contains information about the data source and shows which filters are applied to the data.
-
Show full path/server information Select this check box to show the entire path to the data source. By default, only the name of the worksheet, cube, table, or view appears in the data legend.
-
Show applied filters Select this check box to display which filters are applied to the selected PivotDiagram in the data legend.
-
-
Show connectors Select this check box to show the connectors in your drawing. Connectors make the relationships among nodes more obvious, but if what you need is a clean drawing and the relationships aren't critical, you can can clear this check box to hide the connectors.
-
Show breakdown shapes Select this check box to show the breakdown shapes. If what you need is a clean drawing and the category information isn't critical, you can clear this check box to hide the breakdown shape.
Data options
These options apply to the data for the currently selected PivotDiagram.
-
Import member properties This is only for SQL Server Analysis Services. Select this check box if you want the member properties to be available in your drawing.
-
Limit items in each breakdown You can choose how many nodes to display in a single level or in all levels of your PivotDiagram. This is helpful if you are working with large worksheets, tables, or views and you don't need to see all of the data broken into separate nodes.
In the Maximum number of items box, type the maximum number of nodes that you want to show.
Note: If you want to specify which nodes to show rather than showing a contiguous set, use the Configure Column dialog box.
-
Refresh every number minutes Type a number in the box to have Visio automatically refresh your data at the chosen interval.
-
Change Data Source Click this button to start the Data Selector Wizard and choose a different data source.
If the new source doesn't have the same columns as the original source, some or all of your original nodes may be lost.
