Issue: Picture is not scaled proportionally in Publisher
A picture has been resized disproportionately. The picture will look distorted when you print it or publish it to a Web site.
To find and select the item, click the error message in the Design Checker task pane, click the arrow, and then click Go to this Item.
Automatic fix
Rescale Picture When you click this fix, Publisher rescales the picture proportionally. Publisher uses the smallest dimension (width or height) as the basis, and then reduces the other dimension until the picture is proportional.
Manual fix
To manually fix this problem, do one of the following:
Rescale the picture precisely
-
Right-click the picture, click Format Picture, and then click the Size tab.
-
Under Scale, enter identical values in the Height and Width boxes. You can change the value in both boxes, but to restore the picture's proportion, the Height and Width must be the same value.
-
Clear the Lock aspect ratio check box, and then select Relative to original picture size.
Reset the picture to its original size
-
Select the picture that you want to restore.
-
In Publisher 2007: On the Picture toolbar, click Reset Picture .
In all other versions: Under the Picture Tools tab, click the Format tab, and then click Reset Picture.
Note: If clicking Reset Picture has no effect on the picture, right-click the picture, click Format Picture, click the Size tab, and then make sure that Relative to original picture size is selected. Then click Reset Picture again.
