Viewing or editing an identity

Viewing or editing an identity

Note: This article has done its job, and will be retiring soon. To prevent "Page not found" woes, we're removing links we know about. If you've created links to this page, please remove them, and together we'll keep the web connected.

You can view or edit the information associated with your identity. This is the contact information other users see when they view your contact. Providing detailed contact information helps others distinguish you from other users who have the same display name. For example, if your contact display name is "Ann Beebe," you may want to ensure that other users know you are "Ann Beebe from Seattle" instead of "Ann Beebe from Glasgow."

Note: Policies applied to your computer or account may prohibit you from editing your identity. For more information, see your administrator.

To view or edit your contact information:

  1. On the File tab, click Info, click Manage Account, and then click Account Preferences.

  2. Click the Identities tab.

All information currently entered for your identity displays in the dialog box.

  3. Click Edit to open the Edit Identity dialog box.

  4. Add or change information in the edit fields on the Business and Personal tabs.

  5. When done editing, click OK.
