Power Pivot reporting properties for Power View

Power Pivot reporting properties for Power View

There are a number of properties you can set in Power Pivot that will improve the Power View reporting experience.

In some organizations, the people working in Power Pivot are not the same people building and/or interacting with the Power View reports. In those organizations, the reporting properties will be set for you. But even if you are not the person setting these properties, understanding what they are, how they work, and the reasons for setting them will improve your Power View experience.

The reporting properties include:

Setting default aggregations for a Power View field

Setting the default set of fields for a Power View table

Configuring table behavior properties for Power View reports

Adding perspectives (custom views)

Adding descriptions to Power View tables, columns, and fields

Hiding tables, columns, fields, and measures

Note:  The term reporting properties here is extended to encompass the Power Pivot Advanced tab Reporting Properties as well as a number of other properties that can be set in Power Pivot.
