Why is my Office Mobile file read only?

You can edit files in the Office Mobile apps if you have a device with a screen size of 10.1 inches or smaller. If you have a device with larger screen size, use your Office 365 account to sign in to edit. If you don't have Office 365 subscription, use Office Online to edit your files.
