When you type an equation and a delimiting character—such as a space—in a math region, Word automatically converts it into a professionally formatted equation. The following procedure explains how to convert a professionally formatted equation into an equation that is all on one line.

Convert an equation format

Select the equation.

On the Design tab that is under Equation Tools, in the Tools group, click Linear.
