Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Services
Office Communications Server 2007 R2 has multiple services, specific to the server roles. Changes to some settings require stopping, starting, or restarting one or more services. The following table lists the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 services and describes the requirements for stopping, starting, and restarting the services.
Note: In addition to the service restart requirements described in the following table, it is also recommended that you stop the appropriate services before deactivating a server role, to help ensure that no users remain connected to the server.

Office Communications Server Front End service | When using dbimpexp.exe to import or export user information, stop the service to prevent users from logging on to the Real Time Collaboration (RTC) database during the export process.
