Export items from a Lists tool

You can export some or all items from a Lists tool to a list data archive (.gax) file. You can subsequently import the exported file into another Lists tool. You can export data from Lists tools in both SharePoint workspaces and Groove workspaces.

Note: External lists do not support exporting or importing list data.

1. On the Workspace tab, click Export.

2. In the Export List Item Data dialog box, enter a file name, choose a disk location, and click Save.
