The audio and video Tuning Wizard is unavailable in OneNote 2007

The audio and video Tuning Wizard is unavailable in OneNote 2007

Applies to

Microsoft Office OneNote 2007

Symptoms

On computers running Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 on any edition of Windows Vista, the Tuning Wizard button in the Audio and Video category of the Options dialog box (Tools menu) is unavailable.

Cause

The Tuning Wizard was developed prior to the release of Windows Vista and is compatible with Windows XP only. For this reason, the Tuning Wizard button in OneNote 2007 is disabled on computers running Windows Vista.

Resolution

If you are running OneNote 2007 on a computer running Windows Vista, you can adjust (or "tune") and test the settings for your audio and video devices directly in the Windows Control Panel.

  1. In Windows Vista, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.

  2. On the Control Panel Home page, click Hardware and Sound, and then click the specific device whose settings you want to adjust or test.

Tip: The Windows Vista Control Panel supports contextual search to help you quickly find the options you're looking for. In the Search box near the top right corner of the Control Panel Home page, type keywords like "sound" or "video" to instantly go to specific device settings that you want to adjust.
