Configure Timeline dialog box (Time Period tab)

Start

Type or select the start date and time for your timeline.

The start and finish date or time appears on the timeline if the Show start and finish dates on timeline check box is selected on the Time Format tab.

Note:  The specific date and/or time information that appears on the timeline depends on the date/time format you specify on the Time Format tab.

Finish

Type or select the finish date and time for your timeline.

Note: The start date or time appears on the timeline if the Show start and finish dates on timeline check box is selected on the Time Format tab. The time and date appear if the time scale is day, hour, minute, or second. The date appears if the time scale is year, quarter, month, or week.

Time scale

Select the time scale for the timeline (Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Quarters, or Years).

Note: Choose a time scale that is smaller than the specified date range. If you choose a time scale that is larger than the date range, the time units will not appear on the timeline even if Show interim time scale markings on timeline check box is selected on the Time Format tab.

Start weeks on

Select the start day for the weeks in the timeline. This setting determines which day of the week is used to designate week intervals on the timeline.

Note: This option is available only when Time Scale is set to Weeks.

Start fiscal year on

Select the month and day for the fiscal year. This setting determines the month and day used to designate quarterly intervals.

Note: This option is available only when Time Scale is set to Quarters.
