When you have multiple Lync conversations going on at once—instant messaging (IM), audio, video, and/or meetings—Lync will, by default, display all in one place, on the left side of the conversation window, in a tabbed format. This allows you to move back and forth easily between open conversations. But you can change the way open conversations display and other details about how the conversation window works and looks. Here are the default settings for the conversation window.
Setting | What the setting is for and default value |
---|---|
Enable tabbed conversations | Displays each active conversation as a clickable tab on left side of conversation window. This setting is used by default. |
Make tabs one line only | Changes the number of lines that are displayed in the tab view per conversation to one line only. This setting is not used by default; two lines is the default. |
Reopen my conversations when I sign in to Lync | Restores your conversation window to the state it was in when you logged off, and reinstates open conversations. This setting is not used by default. |
To change any of these default settings:
-
On the Lync main window, click Options.
-
In General options, under Conversation window, select or clear the appropriate box(es) to adjust the settings.
