Print a screen image

Print a screen image

To print a screen image of a document from Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, click Insert > Screenshotto insert a screenshot or screen clipping into your document. Then print as you normally would.

But if you want to print a screenshot from outside an Office program, you can capture the screen image by using a key on your keyboard, and then printing it.

  1. Press the PrtScn button on your keyboard to get a copy of the image on your screen.

Different keyboards have different names or keyboard combinations for this button, such as: Prtsc, or Fn+Prt Sc, PrtScrn SysRq, or Prnt Scrn.

  1. Open Word, and press Ctrl + V to copy the image into the document.

  2. If you want to make changes to the image before you print it, click the image to display the Picture Tools tab.

You can use the tools on the tab to edit and enhance the screenshot.

  1. When you're ready to print, click File > Print.
