Manage trusted personal site locations

Trusted personal site locations are sites that have been deemed safe for users to be directed to. Trusted personal site locations are essentially considered part of the deployment.

What do you want to do?

Add a new trusted personal site location

Edit an existing trusted personal site location

Add a new trusted personal site location

  1. On the Shared Services Provider Home page, in the User Profiles and My Sites section, click Trusted My Site host locations.

  2. On the Trusted My Site Host Locations page, on the New menu, click New Item.

  3. On the Trusted My Site Host Locations: New Item page, in the Type the Web address box in the URL section, type the URL of the trusted personal site location. You can test the URL by clicking Click here to test.

    Optionally, you can type a description of the trusted personal site location in the Type the description box.

  4. In the Target Audiences section, if you want to specify target audiences for the site, either type the audience names in the corresponding box or click Browse to select audiences by browsing.

  5. Click OK.

Edit an existing trusted personal site location

  1. On the Shared Services Provider Home page, in the User Profiles and My Sites section, click Trusted My Site host locations.

  2. On the Trusted My Site Host Locations page, in the Edit column in the list of trusted sites, click the icon of the site that you want to edit.

    Alternatively, if you want to edit sites in bulk in a datasheet format, on the Actions menu, click Edit in Datasheet.
