Change the default view for a public folder

Change the default view for a public folder

This feature requires you to use a Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, Exchange Server 2003, or Exchange Server 2007 account. Most home and personal accounts do not use Microsoft Exchange. For more information about Microsoft Exchange accounts and how to determine which version of Exchange your account connects to, see the links in the See Also section.

To change the default view for a public folder, you must have Owner permission for the folder, and there must be at least one custom view defined for the folder that is visible to everyone.

  1. In the Folder List, in the Navigation Pane, right-click the public folder, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu.

  2. Click the Administration tab.

If the Administration tab does not appear, you don't have Owner permission.

  3. In the Initial view on folder list, click the view that you want to see each time the folder is opened.

Note: The Normal view displays the default Microsoft Outlook view for the type of items in the folder.
