PHI function
This article describes the formula syntax and usage of the PHI function in Microsoft Excel.
Description
Returns the value of the density function for a standard normal distribution.
Syntax
PHI(x)
The PHI function syntax has the following arguments.

X Required. X is the number for which you want the density of the standard normal distribution.
Remarks
-
If x is a numeric value that is not valid, PHI returns the #NUM! error value.

If x is using a data type that is not valid, such as a nonnumeric value, PHI returns the #VALUE! error value.
Example
Copy the example data in the following table, and paste it in cell A1 of a new Excel worksheet. For formulas to show results, select them, press F2, and then press Enter. If you need to, you can adjust the column widths to see all the data.
