Insert scanned images in 2007 Office programs

Use one of the following methods to insert scanned images into a file.

Tip: Use the document-scanning method when you want to scan a document with several pages.

Word

  1. Download the image to your computer.

    Important: Because of the numerous scanners available, we cannot help you troubleshoot any issues with your scanner. For troubleshooting information, see your scanner's manual or manufacturer's Web site.

  2. Open a document.

  3. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Picture.

  4. Locate the image that you want to add to your document, and then click Insert.

Excel

  1. Download the image to your computer.

  2. In Excel, click the location in a worksheet or chart sheet where you want to insert the image.

  3. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Picture.

  4. Locate the image that you want to add to your workbook, and then click Insert.

PowerPoint

  1. Download the image to your computer.

  2. Open a presentation.

  3. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Picture.

  4. Locate the image that you want to add to your presentation, and then click Insert.

Publisher

  1. Download the image to your computer.

  2. Open a publication.

  3. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and click From Scanner or Camera.

  4. Locate the image that you want to add to your publication, and then click Insert.

Access

  1. Download the image to your computer.

  2. Open a form or report in Design View.

  3. On the Design tab, in the Controls group, click Image.

  4. Click the form or report where you want the image to appear.

  5. In the Insert Picture dialog box, locate the image that you want to add to your form or report, and then click OK.

    Note: To make the image appear as a background image, behind other controls on the form or report, right-click the image, point to Position, and then click Send to Back.

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Clip Organizer.

  2. Place the item or items that you want to scan in your scanner.

    Important: Because of the numerous scanners available to consumers, we cannot help you troubleshoot any issues with your scanner. For troubleshooting information, see your scanner's manual or the scanner manufacturer's Web site.

  3. On the File menu, point to Add Clips to Organizer, and then click From Scanner or Camera.

  4. When your scan is complete, make sure that all the pages that you want to insert in your document are selected.

  5. On the File menu, click Save.

  6. In the Save as type box, click TIFF.

  7. In the Save As dialog box, name the file, and then click Save.

  8. Return to Word.

  9. On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Picture.

  10. In the Insert Picture dialog box, select your scanned image, and then click Insert.

Excel
