Adjust brightness and contrast

1. On the Formatting toolbar, click Edit Pictures.

2. In the Edit Pictures task pane, under Edit using these tools, do one of the following:

3. • To automatically correct the brightness levels of the picture, under Correct brightness automatically, click Auto Brightness.

   • To manually adjust brightness, move the Brightness slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.

   • To manually adjust contrast, move the Contrast slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.

   • To manually adjust midtones, under Advanced settings move the Midtone slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.

   • To manually adjust highlights, click More next to Advanced Settings, and then move the Highlight slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.

   • To manually adjust shadows, click More next to Advanced Settings, and then move the Shadow slider or enter a number in the box next to the slider.

Note: To undo an edit, click the Undo command on the Edit menu. The edits to the pictures will not be saved until you save them.
