View resource availability

View resource availability

You can view a graph or a table of resource availability to find overallocated or underallocated resources within a project or across projects.

Note: You can view the availability of only work resources. You cannot view the availability of cost resources or material resources.

  1. On the Quick Launch, click Resources.

  2. To display a list of resource types, in the View box, select one of the following types of resources to view:

    • All Resources

    • Cost Resources

    • Material Resources

    • Work Resources

  3. Select the resources in the table whose availability information you want to view.

To select adjacent resources, hold down SHIFT, and then click the names of the first and last resources that you want to view. To select nonadjacent resources, hold down CTRL and then click the resources' names.

  4. Click Go To, and then click View Availability.

The availability of the resources across all the projects in which they are assigned to tasks is displayed.

  5. On the Resource Availability page, in the View box, select a resource view to filter the view in order to see a particular type of resource:

    • Assignment work by resource     Use this view to see assignment work grouped first by resources and then by the projects that the resource appears in.

    • Assignment work by project     Use this view to see assignment work grouped by the projects that the resource appears in.

    • Remaining Availability     Use this view to see the amount of time a resource has available to work during a particular time period.

    • Work     Use this view to see the amount of work that the resource is assigned to do.

  6. To change the date range or units that are displayed in the chart and table, click View Options View Options , and then select the appropriate options.

  7. If you selected multiple resources in the previous page, you can use the legend in the chart to select the resources that you want to view in the graph.

Why can't I perform some actions in Microsoft Office Project Web Access?

Depending on the permissions settings you used to log on to Project Web Access, you may not be able to see or use certain features. Also, what you see on some pages may differ from what is documented if your server administrator customized Project Web Access and did not customize the Help to match.
