Crop a picture in Microsoft OneNote
When you insert a picture into your notes, you might decide that it shows more than you want or need. For example, a photo that you've taken with your cell phone might show too much background, and resizing the whole picture would make the part you care about look too small. Microsoft OneNote lets you trim a picture on your iPad or iPhone before inserting it in your notes.
iPad

Follow the steps outlined in Insert a picture in Microsoft OneNote.

Before tapping the check mark icon to insert a picture you selected, tap the Crop icon in the lower right corner.

Drag any of the four handles that appear on the selected picture to select the parts of the picture that you want to keep. (The parts of the picture that appear on the outside of this selection will be cropped away.)

Tap the check mark icon in the lower right corner to finish cropping the picture.

Tap the check mark icon once more to insert the cropped picture in your notes. If you changed your mind and don't want to insert the cropped picture, tap the Back arrow in the lower left corner.
iPhone
