Why can't I connect to Project Server with my trial version of Project Professional?

Symptoms

When trying to connect to Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 by using the trial version of Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007, an error message appears.

Cause

When the trial period for Office Project Professional 2007 has expired, or if you have not activated your trial version, it can only be opened in reduced functionality mode. In this mode, you are unable to connect to Project Server.

Resolution

To move out of reduced functionality mode and continue using Office Project Professional 2007 to connect to Project Server, activate your trial version or upgrade to a full release version of Office Project Professional 2007.
