An error log is an ongoing record of the internal operations of a computer. Usually, logging levels are set by your support team when your software is installed and most of the time, these options don't need to be changed. But occasionally you may be asked to send an error log to help analyze a problem in Skype for Business Web App or Windows. Then you'll need to know how to change the settings and collect error information.

Turn on logging in Skype for Business Web App

Important:  Before you change Skype for Business Web App logging settings or enable Windows event logging, review the Privacy statement for Skype for Business Products.

  1. In the Skype for Business Web App meeting window, go to More options More options button (elipsis in a circle) > Meeting Options > General.

  2. Under Help your support team help you, select Turn on logging, and then select OK.

Collect logging information for the current Skype for Business Web App session

  1. In the Skype for Business Web App meeting window, press the F9 key.

  2. Select all the information in the window that opens and press CTRL+C to copy it.

  3. Open a text editor such as Notepad, and press CTRL+V to paste the copied log text.

  4. Save the text file with a descriptive name. and forward to you workplace technical support.
