Change numbers with text format to number format in Excel Online

Sometimes, when numbers are imported or copied from an external source, they might come through formatted as text. You'll probably want to change the format to numbers otherwise it can cause errors in calculations or sorting.

Here's how you can change the format to Number:

1. Select the cells that have the data you want to reformat.

2. Click Number Format > Number.

   Tip:  You can tell a number is formatted as text if it's left-aligned in a cell.
