As of October 2017, Outlook 2007 and unpatched versions of Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 will be unsupported when connecting to Exchange Online and Office 365 mailboxes and may experience reduced functionality. To fix this issue, users of Outlook 2007 should upgrade to a newer version and users of Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 should install the latest updates to those programs.
How do I know if my email will be affected?

How do I make sure my email will continue to be supported?
If you're using Outlook 2007, you should upgrade to a newer version of Outlook.
If you're using an unpatched version of Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013, you should upgrade to a newer version of Outlook or update the existing version.
Why is this happening?
Outlook 2007 and unpatched versions of Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 connect to Exchange Online in Office 365 using a method called RPC over HTTP. In May 2014, Microsoft replaced the RPC over HTTP method with MAPI over HTTP. This new method improves connection times, resiliency, and security. In October 2017, RPC over HTTP will no longer be a supported protocol for accessing email data from Exchange Online. This means there will be no code fixes or updates to resolve non-security related problems, and customers will be unable to call in for support until they take the steps outlined in this article.
