Hour function

Returns a Variant (Integer) specifying a whole number between 0 and 23, inclusive, representing the hour of the day.

Syntax

Hour( time )

The required timeargument is any Variant, numeric expression, string expression, or any combination of these that can represent a time. If time contains Null, Null is returned.

SELECT Hour([DateTime]) AS Expr1 FROM ProductSales;

Returns the "Hour" values of the field "DateTime" without the date information and displays in the column Expr1.

SELECT Hour([DateTime]) AS HourlySales, Count(ProductSales.DateTime) AS CountOfDateTime FROM ProductSales GROUP BY Hour([DateTime]);

Returns the sum of sales against each hour, irrespective of the date of sale, and displays in the column HourlySales.

This example uses the Hour function to obtain the hour from a specified time. In the development environment, the time literal is displayed in short time format using the locale settings of your code.
