Join a Skype for Business meeting
Skype for Business lets you quickly schedule people for an online meeting.
In Outlook, open your calendar and click New Skype Meeting.
Add the people you want to invite, type a subject, and choose the date and time.
Type your agenda above the line. Be sure not to change any of the information below the line.
Now click Scheduling Assistant to check everyone's availability.
Here, you can change the date and time if you need to.
If people are located in other time zones, Skype for Business automatically adjusts the meeting time for each locale.
You can also preload attachments when you set up your invite in Outlook,
so your team will have all the documents they need ahead of the meeting.
Click the Insert tab, select Attach File, and browse to the file you want to include.
Before sending the invitation, take a look at the Meeting Options in the ribbon.
By default, anyone can join the meeting directly without having to wait in the lobby,
and all attendees have present permissions.
These options work for a small meeting.
But if you're running a large meeting, or if you're planning to talk about confidential information, it's a good idea to set some restrictions on who can attend and what they can do.
Click A new meeting space to enable these options, and set the restrictions you want.
If someone doesn't have Skype for Business, they can still click the email link to join the meeting.
Once you're sure everything looks good on the invite, click Send.
Should inspiration strike and you want to meet immediately, click the Meetings tab in the app and then the Meet Now button.
And invite the person you wish to chat with.
Whether you're in Outlook or IM, Skype for Business helps you set up online meetings in advance or on the fly.
