Oct function

Returns a Variant (String) representing the octal value of a number.

Syntax

Oct( number )

The required numberargument is any valid numeric expression or string expression.

Remarks

If number is not already a whole number, it is rounded to the nearest whole number before being evaluated.

Any other number

Up to 11 octal characters

You can represent octal numbers directly by preceding numbers in the proper range with &O. For example, &O10 is the octal notation for decimal 8.

Returns the Octal value of "2" and displays the result in column Expr1.

SELECT quantity,Oct(quantity) AS Expr1 FROM ProductSales;

Returns the values from "quantity" along with Octal value of all the data values in the column "quantity". returns the values from "quantity" along with Octal value of all the data values in the column "quantity" and displays the results in the column "OctValue".

This example uses the Oct function to return the octal value of a number.
