When you want to illustrate your message, you can add custom animation effects to your presentation.

You can create custom animation effects using the following procedures:

• Applying multiple animation effects to one object

• Applying a motion path animation

You can also use a combination of both to further customize your message.

Use a template that has advanced animation effects

Professional designers have produced several free templates that contain designer shapes, charts, and advanced animated effects. To find a template with animated effects, click File > New in PowerPoint, and then type "animated" in the Search box.

Animations vs. Transitions

In PowerPoint, animation effects are not the same as transitions. A transition animates the way one slide changes to the next. To add a transition between slides, see Add, change, or remove transitions between slides.
