Data source prerequisites (Power Query)
Use Excel's Get & Transform (Power Query) experience to connect to various data sources. For each provider, Power Query supports a specific provider version and objects. For guidance on importing data from various sources, see Import data from external data sources.

Excel files that have an .xlsx extension do not require a separate provider installation.

The Oracle providers also require Oracle client software (version 8.1.7+).
